This 100% cotton hakama (11,000) was made specifically for Aikido. In order to allow for a comfortable fit, the Koshi-ita trapezoidal back area on this type of Aikido Hakama is extra soft and flexible.
Himo are extra long for Aikido bands. This Hakama is made of extra-resistant cotton, which is normally used only for hand-sewn Hakamas. It has therefore a great capacity to absorb sweat. Furthermore, the large thickness of the fabric significantly reduces the creases. The folds are maintained even without frequent ironing. At the same time, the Hakama becomes soft and fluid, so you can complete your training without obstacles.
The special quality of this hakama is evident in the details. The lower hem is double-stitched. Areas subject to particular wear and tear have been reinforced with additional fabric. There are two loops on the inside, which can be used to hang the hakama up to dry in the changing room.
The pleats are sewn into the inside of the hakama along its entire length. The inconspicuous thin seam runs very close to the fold edges of the hakama. This makes it easier to maintain the pleats even after washing.
Important: Please measure your legs before purchase. When wearing the Hakama, the lower edge should rest at the ankle and the upper edge of the abdominal belt should lie a few centemeters above the belly button. The length of the Hakama can thus be a bit longer than this distance.
The processing time for requests for changes of clothing such as: sewing in the folds of the hakama, takes about 1 to 2 weeks. If you would like alterations to be made to the garments, please enter the new measurements in the ‘Comments’ field during the ordering process.

Tip: In order to keep the folds of the Hakama after washing it, just follow this procedure.
Before washing, fold the Hakama (see how here). Put it in the tub and wash it by trampling on it like traditional winepresses do. Once it is done, carefully open the folds and hang it on a line to dry. Take it off before it is completely dry and fold it back, then press it with books and leave it to dry. It will then look like perfectly ironed!
