Tips for taking care of the Hakama and Gi

We recommend you to hand wash your Gi and Hakama before being worn for the first time. This slows down the discolouration of your clothes.

You should place the clothes in a bath or shower, folded, and stomp on them in bare feet similar to the way it is done when making wine. This conserves the material, and the creases in the Hakama retain their distinct form when it is hung and left to dry. [click heren].

It is always advised that the items are hand washed to protect the texture and the shape of the clothes, as washing machine might severely damage the quality and colour of the clothes. This is especially true for high-quality items.
